Provide a controlled drawing
Send a legible PDF drawing and, when available, the native CAD model. Identify the drawing number, revision, units, material, critical dimensions, tolerances, surface requirements, and inspection characteristics.
Mark dimensions that affect switching, attachment, alignment, or automated feeding instead of applying unnecessarily tight tolerances to every feature.
Describe the electrical and mechanical duty
Include AC/DC voltage, nominal and inrush current, load type, switching frequency, contact force, travel, opening speed, expected life, and environmental conditions. If the part replaces an existing contact, share observed wear or failure information.

Define sample and production quantities
State prototype quantity, first production requirement, annual forecast, target delivery window, packaging, and any required certificates or reports. Quantity affects tooling, process selection, inspection planning, and unit cost.
Allow time for technical review and validation
If material or construction is not fixed, identify the performance objective and constraints. A proposal should be reviewed against your system requirements before samples are ordered, and samples should be validated before production release.

Which file formats can be attached to the SGEI form?
The form accepts PDF, common image formats, DXF, DWG, Word, and Excel files, up to three files and 15 MB combined.
Can SGEI quote without a drawing?
An initial review may be possible from samples or application information, but a controlled drawing is normally required before a made-to-drawing production part is released.
What quantity should be included?
Provide the sample quantity, first production quantity, and realistic annual forecast so tooling and process choices can be evaluated.
